When traveling to NYC to attend a piano concert at Carnegie Hall, the restaurant / piano bar allowed Nico to practice there before they opened for business. Once they heard him play, they invited him to come back and play for customers in the evenings until he left town. A few years later, when Nico was playing piano at Carnegie hall himself, the restaurant invited Nico to play a few pieces for the crowd.
